Marsha Kimble-Simms Candidate for Clark County District Court Judge Family Division Department C and Jordan Ross Constable of Laughlin Township

Laughlin Constable Jordan Ross:

My wife Linda and I have lived in Laughlin since 2003. I am the Owner and Principal of Ross Legal Search, LLC having worked as a Legal Recruiter since 2001, searching for and placing attorneys for law firms and corporations. Despite most all of my clients being in Las Vegas we were drawn to the jewel along the Colorado River and we’ve been here ever since.

Laughlin brings out the civic in citizens. For the first time in my life I became seriously involved in local affairs, first attending Town Advisory Board meetings, then I started publishing The Laughlin Herald, a local political column published online, shortly followed by The Las Vegas Sentinel to publish political commentary on affairs throughout Southern Nevada.

But I knew that more was needed. I was one half of the political debate program Head To Head on KLBC-TV during the 2008 Presidential election. I chaired one of the Republican Precinct Meetings during that election and jointly chaired three in 2012. I have become the longest serving officer of the Clark County Republican Party having served as County Whip since 2008 as well as holding a number of other positions with both the county and state parties.

In these years I have become familiar and well acquainted with numerous county, state and federal officials of both parties. I’ve come to see that a small town on the edge of the state needs every tool possible to simply be heard above the usual noise of government. When we all lost the right to choose our own Town Advisory Board members, I knew the time to act had come and declared myself a candidate for Constable, not just to serve as the civil enforcement officer for the Township, but to be your Public Advocate, for every resident, regardless of political affiliation, without regard to wealth or influence. And to this day I do just that, always available to hear your concerns.

89 Candidates have filed for Clark County District Court Judge and Justice of the Peace so far. Being an elected Judge is not an entitlement, you don’t own the judgeship. It should be a privilege and an honor to represent voters in this position. For those of you that feel you don’t need the public and you feel all you need is money and power. There will be a wakeup call and on January 17th filing deadline you might be shocked.
